Dell to report earnings at Close

Dell is reporting its Q2 earnings at the close Thursday (8/27) and there’s lots of chatter about where the company is headed and more importantly where the stock is going.

Think of all the wild news over the past quarter:

• PC shipment trends improved due to uptake in low cost (low profit) netbooks
• Dell cut consumer PC prices in growing price war with HP
• HP reported decreased PC revenues in most recent quarter
• Dell received a black eye for settling a gender discrimination lawsuit
• Company accused of not honoring ‘next day’ service plans
• Varied analyst sentiment (upgrades vs. hold) on near term price
• Stock price up from a low of $8.04 on 3/29/09, but down from a 52 week high of 25.
